Pheasant

There is something “other-worldly” about these birds, with their vivid feathers, size and long tail. Of course, they are not UK born and bred, having been introduced to our shores by travellers returning from China. You might think they are strong fliers but in fact they prefer to be land based and only fly when there is a reason.
