Jennifer Mackie Gallery
Born in 1973, Jennifer Mackie was raised in the market town of Forfar in Angus. She studied drawing and painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. Jenny works full-time as an artist from her home studio. First gaining recognition for her art by winning Cadbury’s Young Artist of the Year in 1991, aged 17 with a self portrait entitled “Why Do I Sit”. This was a pivotal moment for the young artist who had a growing fascination for the figure and portraiture which then dominated her time at Art College. Graduating in 1995, she was awarded the Watson & Phillip prize and then went on to teach life drawing for a short period at the college.
We are loving her recent artwork and very much looking forward to a wider selection of what her talents have to offer!
